How to use:

• Choose the right gua sha stone: Gua sha stones are typically made of various materials such as jade, rose quartz, or bian stone. Select a stone that feels comfortable in your hand and has a smooth, rounded edge.
• Prepare your skin: Cleanse your face thoroughly and apply a facial oil or serum. This will provide lubrication and allow the stone to glide smoothly over your skin.
• Hold the stone correctly: Hold the gua sha stone between your thumb and forefinger with a firm grip. Make sure the rounded edge is the part that will come into contact with your skin.
• Start with light pressure: Begin by applying light pressure to your skin. Place the stone at a 15- to 30-degree angle against your face, neck, or body.
• Choose the right direction: Gua sha is typically performed in upward and outward motions. Start from the center of your face or body and move towards the hairline or lymphatic drainage areas. You can also use specific techniques to target certain areas, such as the jawline or forehead.
• Apply gentle strokes: Using gentle, smooth strokes, scrape the skin with the gua sha stone. Maintain a consistent pressure without applying excessive force. The strokes should be comfortable and not cause any pain or discomfort.
• Follow a pattern: Work in sections, focusing on one area at a time. Common areas to target include the forehead, cheeks, jawline, neck, and shoulders. Repeat each stroke 3-5 times or as desired.
• Adjust pressure and speed: Depending on your comfort level, you can adjust the pressure and speed of the strokes. Experiment with lighter or firmer pressure and vary the speed of the scraping motion to find what feels best for your skin.
• Stay hydrated: To support the effects of gua sha, it’s important to stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water before and after the treatment to keep your skin hydrated and to aid in flushing out toxins.
• Cleanse and moisturize: After you have finished using the gua sha stone, cleanse your skin to remove any excess oil or residue. Follow up with your regular skincare routine, including a moisturizer to nourish and hydrate your skin.
